Epiphany Explorers clean up the lake shore at Suwannee Lake Fish Managment AreaExplorer
kids made use of their Monday off from school to work on cleaning up
the shoreline of this nearby fishing lake. Due to time and
manpower constraints, only the several hundred yards of shore near the
boat ramp and fishing piers was cleaned, but there was still plenty of trash to keep them busy. Working from boats
and on foot, they collected beer bottles and cans, cigarette trash,
food wrappers, fishing bobbers and bait cups. In addition to
improving their paddling skills, they learned about being good stewards
of the environment. They also collected tadpoles to watch them turn into frogs.
